Leonard Cooperman joined Gruppo, Levey & Co. in 2009 from Bear Stearns. As an associate in the Global Industries Group, Mr. Cooperman advised corporate management teams and private equity firms on buy-side and sell-side M&A, debt financings, equity issuances and proxy contests. Mr. Cooperman worked on transactions in a wide range of industries including Retail, Real Estate, Consumer Products, Industrials, Transportation, Chemicals, and Energy. Prior to business school, Mr. Cooperman worked for five years as a corporate attorney focusing on corporate M&A, venture capital investments and international joint ventures.

Mr. Cooperman graduated with a MBA in Finance and Accounting from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, a JD from the Emory University School of Law, and a BA in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
